James Holden and Ellen Allien, as well as live acts coming from Modeselektor and Nathan Fake had been on the bill of a joint label showcase of BPitch Control and Border Community on the occasion of annual Popkomm, which in 2005 took place in Berlin for the very first time. Nathan Fake had to fight against perfidious technics, James Holden didn’t warm up up fully when spinning with unfamiliar Technics CD players, Modeselektor delivered one of their best live appearances to date and drove the seething mass to boiling point while Ellen served pumping and groovy techno behind the decks of Maria until late morning.
